Voices of Hope

Right on Time for Bronx School

“We’re trying to teach service learning and we’re trying to fight the national high school dropout crisis. We can’t do that without materials. Simply put, we can’t reach out to these kids if we can’t give them supplies where they can draw and learn. If we don’t have chalk boards or white boards, we can’t display anything. So what we’re trying to accomplish, we can’t unless we have materials and we’re given those by World Vision.”

Not a Level Playing Field

People say that if you live in the United States and are willing to work hard, then you can achieve anything you want, but not everyone has access to the same opportunities. Some start at a disadvantage due to their socioeconomic level, or their location, or the families into which they are born. Tanya Vickers knows this all too well.

Starting School in November

Being a single mom with four boys and constantly having to move, from city to city and state to state, has made it very hard for Robyn to be able to provide for what her boys need. Right now she has no job and no income. She and her boys are living in a domestic violence shelter while they start their lives over once again.
