EDUCATION AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT HELP OVERCOME POVERTY IN THE UNITED STATES

World Vision is committed to overcoming poverty and injustice in the world—including here at home. Poverty in the United States exists in the midst of prosperity, and is characterized by a lack of safety, security, and access to basic resources.

Meet Vera, YEP Video

World Vision's Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) provides young people with the tools and experiences that inspire and encourage civic participation and leadership. YEP takes the passion, pain and anger and redirects the energy into positive activities. Through this experience, youth growing up in distressed communities learn to identify, articulate, and advocate around local and national issues, and to serve as leaders of change in their communities.
